Canton Library re-opened this weekend after being closed for 6 months of refurbishment, funded by the Welsh Government.
As well as a totally new look inside and out, two community rooms have been added to the library, which can be booked by local groups or used as a quiet study area, an extended children’s area and improved accessibility including toilets and baby changing facilities. The library also now has updated IT equipment and free WiFi. All this will be welcomed by local residents, providing a great space for work and leisure.
The Welsh Government provided £120,000 of funding to Canton Library as part of a £2 million package of financial support for libraries, archives and museums in April.
The Housing Benefits and Advice Service will be operating a drop in service one day a week from mid November and the South Wales Police Community Access Point based at the Library will be operational from late November.
