Mark was on hand to celebrate with Ely residents as they were handed a cheque for nearly £4,000 for their energy saving efforts, as part of a landmark energy saving pilot project, which was promoted locally as “Less is More Ely”. The residents have now voted to invest the cash in energy-saving devices to benefit the local community.
The Welsh Government-funded Communities First group Action in Caerau and Ely (ACE) organised for around 300 households in Ely to take part in the year-long Western Power Distribution pilot project which involved residents making small changes to their energy consumption habits to reduce electricity usage during peak hours and bank the money saved.
