The Welsh Government has become the latest of a series of high-profile Welsh organisations to switch over to the .wales and .cymru domains. The National Assembly for Wales was the first to switch, so please note that Mark and his staff will change their email addresses to @assembly.wales / @cynulliad.cymru.
Web addresses of the main website www.wales.gov.uk and www.cymru.gov.uk have now changed to www.gov.wales and www.llyw.cymru. Changes to other Welsh Government sites, such as Learning Wales, CADW and Hwb, will follow.
The old and new addresses will continue to work side by side for a time, but visitors to the main Welsh Government site should update their links and bookmarks with the new addresses.
Organisations who have already moved over to the new domains include, Sport Wales, Media Wales, the National Assembly for Wales and the Millennium Stadium.
The new domains aim to create a strong online presence for Wales, as well as strengthening Wales’s global identity.
